The Short Story of John Michael

On January 11, 1940, a new life was brought into the world. The fourth of five children, and the only boy. John Michael Bazob was the son of Mary Ann and Lee Bazob. Being born in the middle of a war can be a little odd. Coming straight from the Great Depression and having the war pull the economy out of the rut is quite a thing to be born into. Right after the youngest of the five siblings was conceived, John Michael's dad was recruited into the U.S. Army. At the time, he was only 2, and didn't have much time to get to know his father. On January 14, 1945, just days after John Michael's birthday, his family got the dreadful call that no mother, wife, or child ever wanted to receive. His father had become yet another casualty of the war. From that moment on, even as a young child who didn't really understand war, John Michael became adamant to be a war hero to honor his father.
John Michael was later accepted into West Point and graduated at the top of his class. He would later go on to be a General in the Vietnam War where he recieved the congressional medal of honor and fufilled his dream of being a war hero to continue his fathers legacy.
You did such a nice job imagining such a full life for John and using such specific references. You have been listening in your history classes!
